Phillip Badger is President of General*Bioenergy, located in Florence, Alabama, USA. He was previously employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority where he managed the U.S. Department of Energy’s Southeastern Regional Biomass Energy Program (SERBEP) for 15 years. Prior to that, Mr. Badger managed fuel alcohol research programs for DOE and TVA and had research and extension responsibilities at Ohio State University in the fields of renewable energy and controlled environment agriculture.

Mr. Badger has a B.S. and M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering from the Ohio State University, an MBA from Vanderbilt University, and is a registered professional engineer in Ohio and Alabama. Mr. Badger has received national awards for speaking, writing, project management, and industry leadership; and is listed in Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, the Dictionary of International Biography, and International Leaders of Achievement. He serves on the boards of the Biomass Energy Research Association (BERA) and the New Uses Council. He is also a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, American Solar Energy Society, International Solar Energy Society, Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops, Council on Forest Engineering, and Council for Agricultural Science and Technology. 

Bonnie Badger is Vice President of General*Bioenergy and also serves as manager of publication and information services. She was previously employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority where she served as administrative assistant to the manager of the Southeastern Regional Biomass Energy Program (SERBEP) for 14 years. While working with SERBEP, she served as publications manager and information specialist for SERBEP, and as chief editor and publisher of the monthly magazine, the SERBEP Update. She also acted as meeting planner for various conferences and workshops and provided desktop publishing services for the program and for conference proceedings, brochures, etc. 

Ms. Badger has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Alabama and 1-1/2 years’ graduate study in English from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She won an employee recognition award from TVA for significant contributions and achievements relating to her work with SERBEP, and a national award from the US Department of Energy Regional Biomass Energy Program for her work with SERBEP.
